Habitat for Humanity

ISPE DVC is excited to announce the next volunteer day with Habitat for Humanity! Our past ventures have been met with much enthusiasm and we anticipate the same for this upcoming event!

We are looking for 6 volunteers
to help with construction on houses
in the Montgomery County area.

We will be meeting 8:00 AM at 822 Cherry Street, Norristown, PA on Friday, December 18th, 2009. The workday will run until 3:30 PM. Any questions can be directed to Bob Hoernlein at 215-767-9211 or rjhoernlein@comcast.net.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept
half-day volunteers.

This organization has done great work around the world and now it's our turn to lend a hand!

We are also looking for companies to sponsor this event!

Sponsorship is $200 per company.
In return for your tax deductible donation,
your company will be recognized in both
the Habitat for Humanity newsletter & website,
and the upcoming edition of ISPE Matters.

Directions and further instructions are contained in the document which you can download HERE. If you are volunteering, please fill out the form on page one, and email it back to me at dvc@ispe.org, or fax it to 610-351-9136. ( Just the registration form). The remaining forms must be brought with you on the 18th.

Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, which is the largest non-profit homebuilder worldwide. Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County works in the Norristown, PA area.

Their mission is based on the belief that a stable community begins with homeownership. By furnishing this opportunity for people in this community, enabling them to take control of their own lives, Habitat for Humanitie's goal is to eliminate poverty housing. Their goal is based on the concept of providing a Hand Up not a Hand Out.

Homeowners earn their homes by paying a reasonable monthly mortgage (at zero interest), and by contributing at least 350 hours of "sweat equity." These work hours can be divided among the family members, and at least 50 hours must be dedicated to helping build other houses in the community.
